The Job

Avalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., is seeking a Lead Artist to join our team of talented industry veterans working on a new online multiplayer RPG. This person will be a key leader on the art team, working closely with project leadership to establish a world‑class art culture and robust art pipelines.

What part will you play?

  • Lead and mentor the internal art team to deliver high‑quality art that aligns with the artistic vision and technical requirements of the project, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Build relationships with external partners and internal partner studios, ensuring art assets meet all technical and aesthetic requirements.
  • Work with leadership to define, document, and maintain the art pipeline.
  • Champion a high standard of artistic excellence, providing clear and constructive feedback to both internal and external teams.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, Design Director, and Technical Art to ensure all art aligns with the aesthetic, narrative, and gameplay objectives.
  • Coordinate with the production team to manage deliverables, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met by both internal and external teams.

What do we need from you?

  • 8+ years of professional art experience for games, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven experience managing internal artists and partnering with external teams.
  • Experience on at least one successfully published large‑scale multiplayer online game title or equivalent.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of high‑quality art, demonstrating a deep understanding of art fundamentals and production pipelines.
  • Proficient experience with the Unreal Engine and its content pipeline.
  • A track record of fostering a best‑in‑class creative culture where artists can do their best work.
  • Deep knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in art production.

Good to Have

  • A passion for online multiplayer RPGs.
  • Experience with live‑service games.
  • Understanding of multiple art disciplines.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation range for locations where legally required. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $112,000.00 – $208,000.00 per year. Compensation may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Other benefits include health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
