The Challenge
As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with our art and technical art teams to design and implement AI/ML‑assisted, high‑quality content production workflows. Your role bridges creativity and technology, developing tools and pipelines that reimage workflows so artists can focus on their craft.
Key responsibilities and expectations include:
- Prototype and implement tools that leverage AI/ML to automate or simplify complex art workflows, reducing repetitive tasks and unlocking new creative possibilities.
- Integrate DCC applications (e.g., Maya, Photoshop, Substance) into the Frostbite engine, ensuring seamless asset transfer, manipulation, and scalability.
- Build intuitive UIs (Python/Web) that make advanced tools accessible to non‑technical users; conduct user research and feedback sessions to iterate on functionality and usability.
- Explore and apply Large Language Models and other generative AI technologies to accelerate content generation and augment artist workflows.
- Partner with engineers, artists, and researchers to prototype and deliver innovative solutions that enhance both technical pipelines and creative processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
- 4+ years of Python development experience.
- Proven experience building art pipelines for production.
- Experience designing and developing UX + UI (Python/Web).
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines, LLMs, and MCP frameworks.
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies and web APIs.
- Working knowledge of DCC applications such as Maya, Photoshop, and Substance.
Compensation and Benefits
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $100,000 - $139,500 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
