Job Overview
Our client, a well-established custom audio and video integration company based in Chicago, is seeking a skilled A/V Installation Technician and Programmer to join their growing team. This is a full-time role involving residential and commercial audio visual installations, automation, and system programming across multiple client locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and service universal remote control systems, Control4 systems, QSYS solutions, and network integrations
- Pre wire residential and commercial buildings under construction for future A/V and home automation projects
- Terminate audio, video, phone, and data wiring including patch panels, keystones, 8P8C connections, coax, fiber, and soldered audio connections
- Install flat panel televisions, speakers, audio systems, access control systems, motorized shades, and home networking equipment
- Install A/V equipment into racks, manage cabling, and complete rack wiring to in-home systems
- Install and program whole home automation systems including lighting, shades, HVAC, video distribution, distributed audio, and security camera systems
- Perform remote troubleshooting using cloud based support platforms
- Ensure all work is completed professionally and to client satisfaction
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of audio and video equipment
- Basic networking setup and administration experience
- Basic construction knowledge
- Control4 programming experience is required
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with both Windows PCs and Mac systems
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Self motivated, career driven, and eager to learn
- Ability to perform at a high level and meet established goals
Requirements
- Must own personal hand tools
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year of Control4 experience required

- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts
