Position Overview: The Systems Commissioning Specialist provides technical commissioning support for AV/IT systems in the field. The specialist ensures system functionality requirements are fulfilled per the Final Scope of Work, works closely with the Lead Technician, Project Manager, and Programmer to define expected functionality, trains the customer at project close, and ensures safe and efficient commissioning.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide project commissioning support and expertise combining engineering, equipment configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Load test, edit control code, and graphical user interface files with remote assistance.
  • Review final scope of work with Project Manager to confirm commissioning tasks and functionality.
  • Coordinate with engineering for off‑site commissioning tasks such as loading configuration files, setting IP addresses, device communication, and system testing & validation.
  • Travel to locations for onsite commissioning as needed.
  • Coordinate with onsite technicians to conduct remote commissioning as needed.
  • Perform minor system programming and configuration changes required to complete projects and fulfill functionality requirements; provide systems testing, commissioning, and punch list preparation.
  • Assist with tasks required for job completion during the commissioning phase.
  • Develop final programming and design reports and material/labor breakdowns for change orders.
  • Ensure each system is physically complete in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Accurately mark up field documentation and maintain and archive all job‑related configuration files, code, graphic layouts, and programs promptly.
  • Provide a detailed written report at the end of each day documenting objectives completed and remaining objectives.
  • Report any system functionality or design issues promptly to Project Manager and Lead Technician; work with the team to resolve issues.
  • Document changes to system design or configuration to ensure proper As‑Built documentation at project close.
  • Help obtain timely substantial completion documents signed by the client.
  • Train end‑user on system operation.
  • Perform other project duties as required and follow safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in AV Integration, Unified Communications, and Networking.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration abilities.
  • High attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • CTS or other industry certifications preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Communicate orally with management and colleagues.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Heavy lifting may be required.
  • Understand and utilize architectural or engineering drawings.
  • On‑site installations may occur outside normal business hours and exceed 8‑hour days.

Work Environment

  • Some travel required.
