Hours: 3 hours per week in class (or online) per 3-credit course + additional grading/prep hours
Schedule: Morning, Afternoon, Evening / Flexible (online)

Summary: This posting is a pool for candidates interested in teaching AVMP courses at HCC. Courses cover electronic media, concept and story development, video and audio production. The department coordinator will review applicants when a need arises. The pool is cleared annually in January; reapply if still interested.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and update course materials.
• Maintain the learning management system course site (Canvas).
• Attend required faculty/staff meetings.
• Complete required trainings.
• Meet with students as needed.
• Grade and assess student work.
• Deliver quality instruction.
• Meet other employment‑related requirements from the division and the college.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree or higher is required for most positions.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience teaching electronic media, concept and story development, video production, and audio production.
• Availability to teach in face‑to‑face and/or online classrooms.
• Ability to learn and use the Canvas LMS.

Physical Demand

Teaching and learning: may involve prolonged periods of standing or walking, use of hand‑tool skills, and occasional lifting of light equipment.

Eligibility

Preferred to US citizens or permanent residents; non‑sponsoring of work visas. Candidates must live within or be willing to relocate to a commutable area of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC, or Pennsylvania.
