Communication Strategist (Water Business Group)
We are looking for a communications leader to help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. This role will be responsible for communicating HDR’s water solutions, driving thought leadership, and supporting our Water Business Group across global and regional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop content marketing strategies and communication plans for specific initiatives and projects.
- Lead global and local communication strategies by collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing and communications teams.
- Assist in the development and management of an editorial calendar.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop and write white papers, feature articles, thought leadership pieces, and social media posts.
- Ghost‑write and edit blogs, social media posts, papers, and presentations for subject matter experts.
- Help develop collateral pieces and other marketing campaign materials.
- Research, write and edit project narratives and case studies.
- Monitor industry best practices and maintain a repository of trends and examples.
- Support event management where required.
- Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field.
- Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a communications field: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently with multiple teams as well as team‑oriented.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills – positive outlook and attitude.
- High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.
- Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and managing cross‑functional efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation
Expected compensation range: $48,699 – $92,760, depending on skills, experience, education and geographical location.
