Augmentative and Alternative Communication Specialist
Join Numotion as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication Specialist to advance solutions that improve independence for people with disabilities.
Job Purpose
Enhance business growth by increasing awareness, building networks, and guiding clients in selecting and funding speech‑generating devices that best meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop leads and research opportunities to grow the market.
- Manage territory through account maintenance, clinical and educational support, and coordination of internal/external resources.
- Assist in identifying alternative communication methods for clients with disabilities and support SLPs in implementing strategies.
- Conduct consultations to determine the most appropriate AAC solution(s) using speech devices and AAC software.
- Prepare and present in‑services demonstrating product benefits to key referral groups.
- Educate SLPs, therapists, educators, and clients on funding processes and third‑party payer requirements.
- Collaborate with the funding team on prior authorization and case submissions to expedite claims.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and participate in professional organizations to enhance sales opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a setting directly related to AAC and/or assistive technology preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical market development or background in speech‑language pathology, special education, with AAC specialty preferred.
- Excellent presentation and training skills for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
- Ability to remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs at times.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
