We are seeking a candidate who will help lead the Blizzard brand into a new era through social media.
As the Associate Brand Communications Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the brand's social strategy, engaging with players and members of our community, and collaborating regularly with game, regional and cross‑functional teams to lead new digital communications campaigns. The ideal candidate will have deep social media experience either from working at an agency or on the client side, will demonstrate creative and strategic prowess, and be able to bring a campaign to life from concept to final execution.
In addition to knowledge of and passion for the universes of Blizzard Entertainment, the ideal candidate will also have familiarity with other aspects of marketing and communications such as influencer and celebrity engagement, and press; be knowledgeable about the PC, console and mobile gaming space; and be a proactive self‑starter who is constantly looking to push the envelope and expand reach to new audiences across multiple genres. This is a contract position that runs through June 2025, with the possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute the social strategy for Blizzard brand accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch and BlueSky.
- Help manage production and ensure executional success among internal and external creative teams.
- Bring new and big ideas to the table with a digital/social‑first mindset, and collaboratively build on others’ concepts to deliver company engagement and build passion for Blizzard Entertainment.
- Organise the brand’s social editorial calendar, aligning key stakeholders including game teams to ensure they are onboard with global plans and are executing initiatives on strategy.
- Work effectively with internal cross‑functional teams including talent acquisition, commercial, marketing, public relations, events and partnerships to drive 360 campaigns.
- Collaborate on social media reporting, insights and delivery through analytics tools, including Sprinklr.
- Utilise learnings to inform and support the creative approach, and drive KPIs across platforms and campaigns.
- Define and update social best practices and organise global account operations.
- Build relationships with platform, digital and external brand partners, developing and executing co‑branded initiatives.
- Engage with the Blizzard community on social media, fostering a strong connection and interaction with players.
- Develop and lead the execution of Blizzard brand ambassador programs and campaigns engaging celebrities and influencers.
- Plan and create compelling content tailored to the Blizzard brand, ensuring it resonates with the audience.
- Demonstrate the ability to edit and create visual assets and tools to enhance social media presence and engagement.
- Develop a unified social strategy that not only focuses on individual games but also effectively represents the Blizzard brand as a whole.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in social media at an agency or on the client side as a social strategist or digital marketer.
- Project management and collaboration experience in a cross‑functional environment.
- Self‑starter mentality and track record for clever social ideas.
- A healthy understanding of audience development and growth.
- Proficiency in collaborating within a large organisation.
- Experience providing creative feedback for social content.
- Passion for gaming, advertising, social media and all things Blizzard.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, organisational and technology skills.
- Experience working with third‑party agencies/partners.
- Knowledge of the latest platforms and technologies and desire to identify opportunities for strategic brand involvement.
- Understanding of brand strategy and ability to write persuasive POVs.
- Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of social platforms and associated analytics programmes and tools like Sprinklr.
