Communication Faculty & Fellow for the Center for Civics Education and Engagement
Colorado Mountain College – Glenwood Springs, CO | Annual salary: $79,902.51 – $97,321.19 | Full‑time, entry‑level position.
Responsibilities
- Teach a combination of communication courses (Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Professional Communication, etc.) across various modalities: online, virtual classroom, in‑person, and hybrid.
- Collaborate with the Center for Civics Education and Engagement to design and implement programs that promote civic participation, democratic education, and community partnerships.
- Assist with faculty service activities including committee membership, advising, student organization support, and participatory assessment activities.
- Maintain office hours, evaluate courses, and meet established learning outcomes as per college policy.
- Support the Center’s advisory committee and contribute to strategic planning and applied student projects.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communication or equivalent, with at least 18 graduate credits in Communication.
- Minimum of one year of full‑time teaching experience (10–12 credit hours) or an equivalent adjunct teaching record, with higher education experience preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in multiple teaching delivery modes (in‑person, hybrid, synchronous and asynchronous online).
- Strong written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality.
- Experience or academic interest in political discourse, civics education, curriculum design, and community program development.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
