Director, Marketing and Communication – Wellstar College of Health and Human Services

Job Summary: Develops, executes, and analyzes strategic marketing and communications for the assigned college(s). Defines overarching communication strategy, plans and implements internal and external campaigns, creates, edits, and disseminates written content and marketing materials across print, digital, and social media platforms. Works closely with the Office of Strategic Communications to ensure brand consistency and alignment with university guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for the college and its units.
- Collaborate with leadership, department chairs, program directors, and other stakeholders to ensure message accuracy.
- Oversee the design and production of all marketing and recruitment materials, ensuring brand positioning.
- Manage the day‑to‑day activities of a Communications Team, setting priorities and ensuring timely project completion.
- Administer the college marketing and communications budget and financial processes.
- Maintain materials that communicate programs and achievements to internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate marketing across websites, text, email, and social media platforms.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to marketing activities.
- Lead the execution of digital marketing efforts, including targeted campaigns.
- Work with video and social media departments on special projects.
- Act as lead writer and project manager for all college communications content.
- Develop and support professional development for staff and student workers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in publication design, emerging media campaigns, public relations, outreach, marketing, and project management, including supervisory roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.

- Member of the University‑level Marketing and Communications group.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external resources.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, project management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and related computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail, follow‑up, and customer‑service skills.
