Position Description

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Property Management, the Community Manager is responsible for all phases of community operations and on-site team performance. The role manages company objectives and the property operating budget with primary goals of increasing cash flow, balancing the budget, maintaining physical assets, and providing a quality living environment with superior customer service for residents. The Community Manager establishes and sustains a positive, productive relationship with the property’s team, ensuring adherence to TCB’s Mission Statement, policies, and procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and manage operating budgets, billing processes, operating reports, and all accounting functions including invoicing and expense tracking; monitor revenue transactions and rent collection; handle nonpayment of rent processes; follow up and report on collection agency activities.
  • Leasing procedures and compliance with the Affluent Fair Housing Marketing Plan and other regulatory requirements; approve and submit employee time sheets; enact cost‑control measures as needed.
  • Oversee upkeep of property curb appeal, annual apartment inspections, market‑ready units, safety and preventive maintenance, preparation for local, state, or federal audits; monitor the work order system and document risk‑management incidents.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents, ensuring timely communication of all relevant information; follow up on service requests or complaints, including violations of building rules or resident policies.
  • Work closely with Community Life staff and resident associations/groups to provide and advertise activities and services available on site and in the local area, fostering community well‑being.
  • Recruit, train, coach, manage, and motivate team members; provide evaluations and HR recommendations.
  • Participate in corporate committee operations and attend trainings, seminars, and conferences.
  • Available for emergencies, on‑call duties, resident functions, and weekends as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent budget and financial management skills.
  • Knowledge of all regulatory programs, policies, and Federal Housing Laws and Guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi or other industry software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws & Guidelines is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Second‑language proficiency is a plus.
  • Leadership skills and understanding of effective employee development.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to move around the building or site; able to lift up to 50 pounds; work outdoors; occasional travel to local sites may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Education & Experience

BA/BS and 5+ years in a progressive career path in Residential Property Management, Hotel, Hospitality, or Retail Management required, with 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Industry designations such as COS, LIHTC, ARM®, CPMC®, etc., are preferred.
