About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Community Manager to manage a portfolio of homeowner associations and condominiums in the Los Angeles area. This role is ideal for a confident, detail-oriented professional who understands California HOA law and can provide strategic guidance to Boards while delivering exceptional service to residents. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have a proven background in community association management and the ability to lead conversations with Board members, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of HOA and condominium communities in accordance with governing documents and California law
- Serve as the primary liaison to Boards of Directors, providing guidance, leadership, and clear communication
- Prepare for and attend Board meetings (including evenings as required); draft agendas, minutes, and action items
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and project coordination
- Review financial statements, budgets, reserve studies, and invoices in collaboration with accounting teams
- Ensure compliance with governing documents, policies, and state regulations, including the Davis‑Stirling Act
- Respond to homeowner and Board inquiries with professionalism and timely follow‑through
- Conduct property walks and inspections per contract requirements
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and action trackers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HOA or Community Association Management experience required
- Strong working knowledge of California HOA law and the Davis‑Stirling Act
- CMCA®, AMS®, or PCAM® designation preferred or willingness to obtain
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Professional, confident, and solutions‑oriented approach
- Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
