There are 2 positions: An Architectural Illustrator & a Design Architect

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 3-5+ years of experience in architecture
  • Strong ability to sketch and hand-draw concepts to communicate ideas quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with peers, leadership, and external partners.
  • Ability to balance creative vision with practical execution and detail orientation.
  • Capacity to innovate and think beyond traditional solutions while maintaining authenticity in design.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret, and produce architectural drawings that are both functional and inspiring.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to check documents for accuracy and consistency with project goals.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when project deadlines require.

Plusses

  • Minimum of 2 years of design experience in an architectural firm (this is REQUIRED for the Design Architect)

Job Description

A large retail client is seeking an Architect/Designer and an Architectural Illustrator to work onsite at their corporate office in Springfield, MO and collaborate with the Design and Development department to create innovative store designs, resorts, and various specialty projects. The role emphasizes enhancing the customer experience through authentic detailing, craftsmanship, and immersive environments that reflect the heritage and values of the company.

The ideal candidate will also develop objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual drawings and sketches to communicate design ideas effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Translate concepts into detailed architectural drawings that clearly convey design intent for production and execution.
  • Revise and refine drawings based on feedback from ownership and project leadership.
  • Collaborate with the in-house fabrication shop to design custom elements such as lighting, railings, gates, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Review and verify construction documents for accuracy, quality, and adherence to design standards.
  • Ensure all design work aligns with the company's brand identity and commitment to creating meaningful customer experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
