Overview

Our Fort Worth, Texas office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Services team!

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
  • Develop technical drawings and plans
  • Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, including some multifaceted calculations
  • Perform day‑to‑day tasks with minimal supervision
  • Use engineering principles to suggest design changes
  • Maintain drawing database
  • Supervise and train CAD staff
  • Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred)
  • Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Willingness to mentor and teach others
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self‑starter
