Overview
Our Fort Worth, Texas office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Services team!
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
- Develop technical drawings and plans
- Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, including some multifaceted calculations
- Perform day‑to‑day tasks with minimal supervision
- Use engineering principles to suggest design changes
- Maintain drawing database
- Supervise and train CAD staff
- Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
- Develop familiarity with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred)
- Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and desire to learn
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to mentor and teach others
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self‑starter
