Base Pay

Minimum base pay of $15.24 per hour, with higher starting pay available based on experience.

Purpose

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start‑to‑finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all that is required, and build a creative design concept incorporating the customers’ personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Minimum of one year interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self‑motivated and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Essential Functions

• Greet store customers helpfully and support design walk‑in needs.
• Schedule design appointments, building clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy and timely follow‑up, consistently communicating via company tools and email.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals.
• Support all company initiatives and goals, modeling and coaching best practices with store employees.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market.
• Use design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary online design appointment scheduler, and MyProject.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car.
• Employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – ability to exert 20‑50 pounds of force occasionally, 10‑25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Requires use of hands and fingers; occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

• Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Pickup Hours

• Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
