Knife Drop Studios, the production company behind celebrity chef and social media personality Nick DiGiovanni, is hiring a Music Editor to shape the musical identity of our longform and shortform content across YouTube and social platforms.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a highly musical, detail-oriented, and creative Music Editor who understands how sound and music drive emotion, pacing, and storytelling in video content. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes music, has great taste, and knows how to elevate content through thoughtful music selection, editing, and sound design in a fast-paced production environment.
You should have 3–5 years of professional music editing or audio post-production experience, with strong instincts for genre, rhythm, and emotional beats. Top-notch skills in music editing, sound design, audio mixing, and working within YouTube’s content ecosystem are essential.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll work closely with Nick DiGiovanni, editors, producers, and the wider post-production team to ensure music enhances story, energy, and comedic timing, while also helping define and maintain a consistent sonic identity across the channel.
What you’ll bring to the team
- 3-5+ years of experience in professional music editing, audio post-production, or sound design for YouTube, TV or film
- Deep understanding of how music impacts pacing, retention, and emotional storytelling for YouTube
- Strong musical taste across a wide range of genres, moods, and tempos
- Expertise in audio tools such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, or similar DAWs
- Excellent instincts for timing, transitions, builds, drops, and comedic beats
- Ability to source, edit, cut down, and customize music tracks to fit scenes perfectly
- Strong attention to detail, especially with audio levels, transitions, and consistency
- Experience collaborating closely with video editors and producers in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative mindset and openness to creative feedback
- A degree in music, audio engineering, sound design, or a related field (preferred)
- Bonus: experience with original composition, sound effects libraries, stem-based editing, and final audio mixing for broadcast or digital platforms
