Position Overview
We are seeking a Journeyman Editor to support the US Coast Guard Surface Assistant Program Executive Office (USCG-SEA APEO). The role involves creating, editing, and refining technical content tailored to the APEO’s needs, collaborating closely with PEO teams, and producing high‑quality documentation that aligns with organizational goals and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and edit technical documentation, including reports, manuals, and briefings, focusing on PEO‑specific programs and initiatives.
- Work closely with PEO subject matter experts to gather, interpret, and communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with PEO guidelines in all written materials.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams within the PEO to maintain consistency in documentation and messaging.
- Conduct thorough research to stay informed about PEO programs, advancements, and industry trends.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects related to the PEO, meeting tight deadlines and adapting to evolving requirements.
Required Skills And Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years of related experience.
- Proven experience as a technical writer/editor with specialization in a Program Executive Office.
- In‑depth knowledge of PEO processes, programs, and terminology.
- Strong understanding of government and defense‑related documentation standards.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software for document creation and editing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with PEO teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience in the Coast Guard, Navy, or other military branches.
- Acquisition experience.
- Experience using the DCARs and TMS tracking systems at USCG.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Work Location
St. Elizabeth's DHS Campus – Washington, D.C. (minimum 3+ days onsite with the option to telework with client approval).
- Our company prioritizes flexibility and collaboration, whether in person or remotely.
- If the position is remote or hybrid, you may periodically work from a Pantheon Data office location or client site.
- If assigned to a Pantheon Data office location or client site, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person as needed.
Compensation
Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000. Final compensation will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
