Senior Motion Designer / Video Editor – New York Office

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Motion Designer/Video Editor to join our growing creative team. This role is crucial for executing and leading engaging visual content across digital platforms, with a significant focus on social media. You will be responsible for the full cycle of video and animation projects, from organizing footage to final asset delivery. This includes editing raw video, creating motion graphics, developing short‑form social‑first videos, and optimizing final assets for various platforms. While there is an emphasis on technical execution, this isn’t a production‑only role. We are looking for someone who can brainstorm on concepts, enhance the creative, and proactively find ways to improve the work and how we work.

You will independently work on motion and video‑based creative, but this is also a collaborative role. You will work with creative and art directors on the creative vision, get input from lead motion designers, and collaborate with designers on visual assets that are used in your project.

The ideal candidate has an understanding and interest of the social media space, particularly keeping up with platform‑specific video formats, new features, and current trends. A strong interest in the role of AI in video production and animation is a plus. Experience in both fast‑paced, social‑first production environments and more structured, full‑production shoots is desired. We are looking for a highly organized individual who is excited to grow and refine their video and motion‑based skills and share their creativity with a growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Create video and motion‑based assets based on client needs, including video editing, post‑production (color correction, audio mixing), motion graphics (title cards, essential graphics), animation of illustrations and designs, and product UI animations.
  • Help grow the team’s video and motion‑based capabilities.
  • Create and work within brand guidelines and follow motion / design systems.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate on conceptual creative solutions for evergreen content and campaigns.
  • Participate in the growth of the team and how we work, prioritizing the motion / video team.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of agency or equivalent experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of motion (title cards, essential graphics), 2D animation, and video editing work.
  • Skilled in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Proficient in other Adobe products (Illustrator and Photoshop) and Google environments (Drive, Slides, Docs, etc.).
  • Experience with Figma and/or audio design is a plus.
  • Understands the goal of a project and is able to prioritize work. Knows when to push creativity versus meeting a tight deadline.
  • Able to articulate video and motion design choices to fellow designers, account team members, and creative/art directors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, on‑brand work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Experience leveraging AI as a creative tool.
  • Experience working on creative for social platforms – from evergreen content to campaigns.
  • Passion for art trends, social media trends and best practices, and all things motion.

Benefits

  • A workplace that’s alive with courage, ideas, respect and humanity.
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career.
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans for your entire family.
  • A 401(k) savings plan and flexible spending accounts.
  • Paid holidays, unlimited paid time off (personal, sick, vacation), and summer Fridays.
  • Additional perks: family leave, well‑being programs, and commuter benefits.

(New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.)
