Position Summary

Do you have experience providing graphic designs for client‑facing pitch and proposal materials? Do you thrive on working on multiple projects across varying time zones? Do you have experience in a law firm or professional services organization assisting stakeholders with their business development needs? Then the role of Business Development Graphics Designer may be the one you’ve been looking for! It’s ideal for a creative marketing professional who loves to support professionals in attracting new clientele.

The Business Development Graphic Designer is a member of the Marketing & Business Development Department and is responsible for producing polished, on‑brand materials that support client pitches, proposals, presentations, and other business development needs. The role requires strong attention to detail, creativity, and adaptability to enhance design and presentation quality. The designer must consistently deliver high‑quality, customized materials that accurately reflect each client’s business and industry, ensuring the firm is always presented professionally and visually consistently.

Essential Functions

  1. Design, customize, edit, and produce proposals, pitch presentations, and other client‑facing materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistent alignment with branding and design standards.
  2. Work closely with the Business Development Team to tailor materials to each client’s business and industry and shape the visual approach that supports high‑quality pitch and proposal responses. Help infuse brand identity in RFP submissions by integrating visual elements within required formats.
  3. Design materials for business development trainings, events, and internal initiatives, adapting existing templates or developing new layouts as needed.
  4. Maintain, update, and organize graphic files, templates, archived materials, and other collateral to ensure easy access and consistency across projects.
  5. Coordinate with proofing teams to uphold brand voice, accuracy, and consistency in all creative output, and be responsible for accuracy in final products.
  6. Format, edit, and enhance photos, images, charts, and other visual elements. Help maintain the firm’s image libraries.
  7. Support the preparation of printed materials, such as sourcing specialty paper, folders or packaging for in‑person business development meetings.
  8. Coordinate with external vendors for outsourced printing and production, ensuring deadlines, quality expectations, and budgets are met.
  9. Help develop and maintain templates, style guides, and specifications to promote consistency across materials and increase team efficiency.
  10. Remain proactive by staying current on design tools and best practices, bringing forward new ideas and technologies to enhance the team’s output.
  11. Ensure accurate application of firm brand standards across all media, including proper use of the firm’s logo, color palette, typography, and layout standards.
  12. Prioritize multiple active design projects, gathering necessary information from requestors and managing timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  13. When necessary, coordinate with outside design firms working with the firm.

Qualifications

The Business Development Graphic Designer should have a degree or certification in graphic design or a related field, or comparable training gained through additional work experience. Five to seven years of related experience are required. Experience in designing for professional services—such as legal, consulting, financial, or similar industries—is highly desirable, especially with client‑facing pitch and proposal materials. The candidate must understand branding and its components to ensure brand consistency and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines while producing high‑quality, brand‑consistent work under compressed timelines. Effective self‑management of workflows, communication of progress, and early issue flagging are essential. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Premiere), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity with AI‑enhanced design tools—such as Adobe Firefly and AI features in PowerPoint, Canva, and Figma—to streamline tasks is preferred. Working knowledge of content management and e‑communication platforms, including Vuture, WordPress, or custom CMS, and familiarity with ShareFile is a plus.
