Location: Fremont, CA or Palo Alto, CA. This role is part of the Service Technical Publications department, responsible for documenting after‑sales activities such as automobile mechanical repair, collision repair, and owner‑facing information.
What You’ll Do
- Create accurate line drawings, renderings, and 3D animations assembled for step‑by‑step procedures, parts catalogs, and diagrams by manipulating CATIA V5/V6/3DX CAD data.
- Work closely with subject‑matter experts and Technical Writers to deliver high‑quality Owner’s Manual, Service Manual, and support documentation for internal and external consumption.
- Translate photos or CAD data into fully‑rendered images from concept to production using Adobe Creative Suite tools, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven track record and strong portfolio creating illustrations with lighter‑weight 3D authoring tools such as Keyshot or 3D via Composer.
- Proficiency in at least one CAD program (CATIA V5/V6/3DX, SolidWorks, Autodesk, or similar). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Ability to manipulate/edit existing exploded views and technical drawings, and experience building and maintaining a graphics/illustration library or working within a CMS.
- Bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, collaboration, and time‑management skills. Ability to communicate effectively, with a positive attitude toward change and course corrections.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize multiple projects, and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Automotive experience or familiarity is highly preferred.
Compensation
$80,000 – $174,000 per year + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
