Job Summary / Description

WEAU 13 News, the dominant station in Eau Claire, WI, is searching for a multimedia journalist. The successful candidate will be an enterprising, self‑starter who brings original lead story ideas and digs for the “get” relentlessly. As a storyteller, you will incorporate real people into your work, shooting, writing, and editing television news packages while producing value‑added content for WEAU.com. On‑air journalists are also expected to maintain social media pages and be actively involved in the community. The role requires proficiency in all social‑media platforms, web image editing, reporting, excellent on‑air and web writing skills, and AP style adherence. Sound news judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under stress are essential.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with breaking news and working under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment is preferred; outstanding recent college graduates will also be considered.
