Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Access Services, this position supports the effective operation of Trumbull Library by performing a variety of graphic design, marketing and promotional duties for all departments. Incumbent will design and produce both print and digital materials, including flyers, signage, and other resources, to support library programs, services, and collections. Responsible for maintaining and developing content for the Library’s eNewsletter and social media accounts. This position also requires working with the public at library service desks.

- In collaboration with library department coordinators, design and produce print and digital materials consistent with the Library’s branding across website, social media, marketing materials, and library signage.
- Create, schedule, and manage content and monitor engagement for all library social media platforms and weekly e-newsletter.
- Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Photograph and/or film library programs, events, and services; edit media for promotional use.
- Maintain and update the Library’s events database (LibCal).
- Provide programming functions as necessary.
- Provide direct service to the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience creating, scheduling, and managing content across multiple social media and web platforms.
- Some experience in creative design and/or marketing preferred.
- Strong photo and video editing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work courteously and effectively with library staff and library patrons.
- Minimum GED or high school diploma. Degree in communications, marketing, art or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of graphic design software with a strong understanding of print and digital design principles, layout, and typography.
- Experience providing excellent customer service is preferred.

Each candidate must have had the minimum required experience and training to be eligible to participate for the exam for this position.
The weight of the examination will be 80% experience and training and 20% computer skills. The candidates will be ranked based on their experience and training, which is based on the information contained in their employment application and their responses to a supplemental questionnaire, and the results of a computer skills test.
This examination will be conducted for the Town of Trumbull by the Trumbull Civil Service Board within the authority of Section 7-413 of the 1959 revision of the State of CT General Statutes.
