This role will be based in San Francisco, Mountain View or New York. At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

As Associate Creative Director, LinkedIn News you'll be embedded within the Content Development Design team, a core unit of LinkedIn Productions—the team behind producing premium content that powers LinkedIn Learning and LinkedIn News. These platforms are dedicated to delivering market‑leading professional development courses and providing trusted business news to LinkedIn members globally. Reporting to the Creative Director for Learning & News, you will lead the visual development of our global editorial programs, including:

  • Tentpole data‑based initiatives, such as Top Companies, Top Startups, and Jobs on the Rise
  • Annual trend reports, such as Big Ideas and Guide to Kickstarting Your Career
  • Award‑winning series, such as Catalyst and Hello Monday

In this role, you will drive the quality and consistency of LinkedIn News’ motion‑based storytelling and lead key efforts to evolve the brand’s visual identity across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Vision & Execution: Lead the development of visually compelling and strategically aligned content for LinkedIn News, combining motion design, graphics, and storytelling to engage a global audience.
  • Strategic alignment: Identify strategic opportunities and potential design solutions.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Collaborate with Content Development designers, producers, and editors to execute innovative news and content campaigns. Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement these campaigns and programs within the larger LinkedIn ecosystem.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and reinforce consistent, high‑quality creative standards across all content outputs.
  • Project Management: Partner with Creative Program Manager to ensure complex, multi‑stakeholder projects are successfully completed while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Anticipate challenges and develop solutions to ensure project success.
  • Innovation R&D: Identify emerging design technologies, tools, and trends in editorial storytelling and integrate relevant innovations into team workflows to enhance creative output.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in design, visual storytelling, or related roles.
  • Experience using design and motion graphics tools, including Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
  • Experience managing complex productions and global projects with multiple dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in editorial design for learning, education, or news platforms.
  • 4+ years working in digital and video production.
  • Exceptional visual craft and conceptual skills with a portfolio showcasing innovative design, typography, motion graphics, and storytelling in dynamic, high‑impact editorial projects.
  • Comfort working in fast‑paced, iterative environments with multiple rounds of feedback.
  • Experience working globally across time zones and cultures.
  • Strong understanding of creative team dynamics, including mentorship and leadership of junior‑level designers.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $119,000 to $193,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
