Overview
Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to join our innovative team with the mission of Fighting Blindness For The World To See. This position will provide accurate fundus, anterior segment and external photography as ordered by the eye care provider while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status within a high-volume practice. The role will be based out of our Northwest/Cypress Clinic.
Candidates must be able to travel to various clinics to meet the needs of patients and providers, and support the clinic hours of Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Schedules are provided weekly and are based on provider, patient and surgery schedules. Clinic staff have the opportunity for weekend hours if available.

Responsibilities
- Perform fundus, anterior segment, and external photography as ordered by the eye care provider.
- Perform intravenous fluorescein and/or indocyanine green angiographies as ordered.
- Perform scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging (e.g., OCT, HRT) as ordered.
- Obtain informed consent for angiographies.
- Process film; mount and label slides; maintain film log and backups of digital database.
- Maintain camera(s), related equipment and inventory of supplies.
- Maintain all patient‑related records as they pertain to imaging systems.
- Maintain records of work performed.
- Obtain images for physician presentations as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Two to three years experience in ophthalmic photography and digital imaging.
- CRA and JCAHPO certification preferred.
- CPR certification necessary.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong team orientation.
Physical Abilities
- Requires normal range of eyesight to perform necessary tasks involved with photographing images and developing slides and film.
- Involves working in a small space in dim‑lit or dark room.
