Publicist / Senior Publicist – Little, Brown & Company

Little, Brown & Company is seeking an energetic, creative Publicist or Senior Publicist to work closely with the Director of Publicity for the Spark and Voracious imprints. The role involves planning and executing publicity campaigns for titles across all imprints, with a focus on nonfiction and selected fiction.

Responsibilities

  • Publicize 14–18 books per year, largely nonfiction (cookbooks, lifestyle, health/wellness, psychology/social sciences) and some fiction (commercial, literary); execute booking, media, author tours, and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with press across broadcast, radio/podcasts, print/digital, and trade media; identify new outlets and creative tactics.
  • Work closely with authors on all publicity needs, brief for interviews, and accompany on engagements.
  • Collaborate with LB’s editorial and marketing teams on book launches.
  • Strategize media lists; create press materials (press releases, pitch/galley letters, author Q&A’s).
  • Coordinate with in‑house departments: Publicity, Marketing, Sales, and Subsidiary Rights.
  • Maintain relationships with booksellers and event venues nationwide.
  • Plan and execute author appearances, pre‑sell events, and tours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of publicity experience in professional PR or book publishing.
  • Strong knowledge of national and regional media, ability to spot emerging outlets.
  • Passion for nonfiction books.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of media, marketplace, and competition.
  • Availability to escort authors and travel domestically.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and media databases such as MuckRack, Podchaser, Netgalley.
  • Fluency in social media networks.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $65,000–$75,000, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability, bonus program, PTO, 401(k), and more.
