About the Role

As a tutor, you will provide personalized, one‑on‑one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will help students with daily activities, offer moral support, and deliver tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Long Beach, CA.

Details

• In‑Person Tutoring in Long Beach, CA
• Schedule: 6 hours, 1 session for 1.5 hrs per session
• Pay range: $25–$35

Ideal Candidate

• Credentialed teacher with strong special education experience, preferably working with students on the autism spectrum.
• Skilled in language and communication, writing (including language, conventions, organization, and traits), math concepts, and math word problems.
• Experienced in supporting social‑emotional learning (SEL) and managing mild frustration‑related behaviors.
• Calm, patient, structured, and able to provide consistent guidance with clear routines.
• Able to design individualized lesson plans and conduct assessments to tailor instruction to student needs.
• Comfortable using hands‑on, visual, and manipulative‑based strategies to reinforce learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction in language and communication, writing, math concepts, and math word problems.
• Support social‑emotional development and implement strategies for managing mild frustration or task avoidance.
• Use hands‑on manipulatives, visuals, and interactive activities to engage the student.
• Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adapt lessons based on results.
• Maintain a structured, patient, and supportive learning environment to encourage confidence and skill growth.
