Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience managing multi‑faceted programs that span multiple surface teams or organizations.
  • Experience working in changing or startup environments.
  • Ability to understand the root causes of problems, look for connections, and trace cause and effect across an entire ecosystem; a record of systems‑thinking mindset.

Google User Experience (UX) is a multi‑disciplinary team of designers, researchers, writers, content strategists, program managers, and engineers. The UX team gathers insights about users’ attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry‑leading products that deliver value for users and for Google’s businesses. As a UX Program Manager, you will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience to help your team improve product design used by billions of users. You’ll plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure projects meet deadlines. You’ll harmonize the work of UX Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, UX Engineers, and other UX disciplines, while also working closely with Engineering and Product Manager partners to drive UX team objectives and create innovative experiences for our business, products, and users.

We build advertising products across search, display, shopping, travel, and video, and provide analytics tools. We help businesses—from small to large—to grow through effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results and enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $151,000‑$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UX leadership to define and deliver priorities, author and drive progress based on a clear brief, plan, and schedule. Provide clear communication to cross‑functional team leads and executive management regarding program health, resource requirements, issues, and priorities.
  • Translate and communicate requirements to various groups and stakeholders.
  • Operate with an action bias, proactively identify issues and own sustainable solutions that resolve them, and identify opportunities to implement solutions that up‑level design quality and productivity.
  • Drive effective decision‑making—including requirements gathering, planning, resource allocation, and launch approvals—to enable efficient progress.
  • Partner with Technical Program Managers and cross‑functional counterparts to deliver work that builds trust across teams such as Engineers, Product Managers, and across functions within UX.
