KBTX Media operates the CBS and CW affiliates in Bryan‑College Station, Texas, serving an 18‑county area. The station produces six newscasts each weekday and three each weekend, totaling nearly 25 hours each week, and is recognized for its award‑winning journalism.

Job Summary

KBTX is seeking an innovative newscast producer to lead the morning newscast. The producer will oversee a team of journalists, craft impactful stories, and excel in breaking news and weather situations. Strong planning, communication, and a passion for storytelling are essential. Essential duties include developing engaging content for television and web, ensuring accuracy, sourcing stories, collaborating with staff, meeting tight deadlines, and timing the show to meet ratings goals.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Researching, writing, and editing daily content for television and web platforms
• Producing a quality, accurate show that resonates with key demographics
• Identifying the day’s most important stories and sourcing materials relevant to the audience
• Working with management and staff to generate stories and content
• Meeting daily deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Planning and timing the show to meet ratings goals

Qualifications/Requirements

• Good work ethic, strong people skills, and a team‑player attitude
• Availability to work weekends and occasional holidays
• At least two years of experience in a TV newsroom and a college degree in broadcast journalism or a related field is preferred
• Experience with ENPS, Grass Valley EDIUS, or BitCentral Oasis is a plus
