Purpose

NewsNation is a 24/7 national media outlet dedicated to unbiased news that covers multiple perspectives and serves every community across all 50 states. We offer a truly all-platform experience: a national cable channel plus a vibrant digital presence.

Position Description

  • Ensure our NewsNation journalism maintains high standards and differentiates our brand from our competitors.
  • Create and oversee the creation of news content, including assigning and reviewing stories, video and social content.
  • Craft compelling headlines, teasers and social media posts that encourage followers to engage with our journalism.
  • Package content that encourages audience engagement to stay on the page longer or view more pages per visit.
  • Plan and execute coverage plans for weekend news, events, and special programming.
  • Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to meet standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.
  • Utilize SEO best practices.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years working as a digital reporter, producer, manager, or editor in a major market or national newsroom.
  • Strong news judgment and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal.
  • Experience working with video and social media.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000

Part-time employees are eligible for 401(k) and local/state leave plans. Union positions are subject to the benefits outlined in their Collective Bargaining Agreement.
