Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated
Architecture Designer III
to join our Orange Architecture studio, Los Angeles or San Diego. This pivotal role will work on one of the most exciting, large and complex local projects.
The successful candidate will understand the value of leveraging the design platform that AECOM offers, which is access and collaboration with industry leading designers and technical experts in nearly every design and engineering field. The current and near‑term projects that this position would support will be transformational to the communities in which they exist.
Internally, this position will provide the opportunity to serve as an integral part of a planning and design practice that includes planners, landscape architects, architects, interior designers, engineers, and business development professionals.
The position will require the ability to support design visions, concepts, and overall design process for complex multi‑layered design problems and solutions.
Responsibilities
Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.
Design development and idea generation.
Detailed design and documentation.
Prepare specifications, reports, presentations and related data tables.
Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
Assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Architecture degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
US citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Architecture.
5 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer on a variety of building types.
Ability to become a licensed architect in the future.
Experience with Adobe Suite, Autodesk Revit, Enscape, Rhino.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficient in rendering software, preferably 3ds Max, Corona, D5 Render, Blender, or Enscape.
Revit based tools such as pyRevit or other open‑source python‑based framework, Dynamo scripts.
AI integration for design optioneering, entourage/image editing.

Compensation Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000.
