WordPress Developer
$30-$55/hr
Remote| 1099 Contract or W-2 | Part-time or Full-time
The Role (This Is a Doer Role) We’re looking for a strong WordPress Web Developer who can build, fix, optimize, and deliver . This is a hands‑on execution role for someone who enjoys being in the work—not managing people, not climbing a ladder.
You should be comfortable owning builds end‑to‑end, jumping into issues without hesitation, and delivering websites that are:
Visually polished
Technically sound
SEO‑friendly
Fast, stable, and conversion‑ready
No offshore candidates or agencies. Preference for Colorado‑based , open to U.S.-based candidates.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Building new WordPress websites and redesigns
Maintaining, updating, and repairing existing sites (including urgent issues)
Writing clean, well‑structured, documented code
Implementing SEO best practices during development (not as an afterthought)
Integrating Google tools (GA4, Search Console, Tag Manager, etc.)
Managing hosting environments, migrations, DNS, and domains
Collaborating with designers and marketers to execute approved designs and strategies
Communicating clearly with non‑technical clients to gather requirements
Managing multiple sites and deadlines without quality slipping
Responding quickly when a site breaks— this matters
This is not a typical 8am‑5pm role but expected to respond to clients and address needs during standard business hours
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of web development experience
3+ years of WordPress‑focused development
Strong full‑stack WordPress capability (themes, plugins, customization)
Solid HTML and CSS skills
Comfortable working server‑side to support WordPress
Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals related to site structure, performance, and content
Working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console , and related tools
Experience with hosting platforms and DNS/zone records
Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities
Reliable, responsive, and accountable
Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Experience with Astra Pro, Elementor, and Formidable Forms
eCommerce, ticketing, or payment system experience
Performance optimization and page speed tuning
Strong design instincts and attention to visual detail

Not a leadership or management role
Not a strategy‑only role
Not a “handholding” environment
Not a place for slow executors
This role is for someone who likes producing great work and moving on to the next build .
