Responsibilities The production artist will use their expertise in design and computer applications to review final designs and layouts. In finalizing the products, this role may suggest improvements and modify formats to increase the quality of production and ensure that standards are met. Other technical duties may include scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning and preflighting, or eliminating defective and excessive imaging. Production artists may also be responsible for archiving and updating graphic files. The position will work with internal partners to include: Brand Strategy, Project Management, Creative, Content Creation, Experiential, Web Design & Development, Digital Media, Social Media and New Business teams along with clients and their various agency partners to develop overall marketing programs that maximize client’s budget.

Collaborate closely with the Creative team (Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters & Creative Directors) and Brand Management team to produce final production files based on supplied specifications for several types of digital and traditional media.

Make various formats of supplied artwork production print and web ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production.

Follow a project timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time.

Produce projects based on direction from brand guidelines and approved creative concepts.

Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation.

Package and preflight files for release to digital media partners or printers.

Create PDFs for print and client review.

Conduct press and digital checks.

Prepare images for online and mobile advertising.

Catalog and reference art for future projects.

Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the digital media team, vendors or printers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Studio Art, Production Art, Creative Advertising or related field.

2-4 years of advertising/marketing agency or design experience.

Knowledge of principles of design, including layout, typography, color, balance, composition and current design trends.

Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.

Aptitude to work constructively under stress in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Ability to learn from and handle critiques.

Ability to follow brand guidelines to develop a consistent and cohesive group of work.
