Location: St. Louis, MO | Employment Type: Full-Time | Salary Range: $80,000–$110,000
Our client is a trusted leader in fire suppression systems, delivering high-quality design and installation services across a wide range of commercial and industrial facilities—including hospitals, power plants, and manufacturing sites. As their project pipeline continues to grow, they’re seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join their team and take a key role in system planning, coordination, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD within AutoCAD and/or Revit
Perform hydraulic calculations and generate fabrication material lists
Interpret and work from architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Apply NFPA standards to system designs based on construction type, hazard classification, and building features
Conduct field surveys to verify site conditions and drawing accuracy
Coordinate with other trades and project stakeholders for seamless integration
Collaborate with Design Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent to ensure project scope and quality standards are met
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or CAD-related certificate preferred
NICET Level III or IV preferred (Level II considered with relevant experience)
Minimum of 5 years’ fire protection design experience in a contracting environment
Proficient in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and Microsoft Office; Revit experience a plus
Strong 3D visualization and basic math problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel locally as needed
Work Environment
Primarily office-based (85%) with some local travel (15%) for field verification and coordination
