Flexographic Pre-Press Technician

Flexografix, Inc. (Carol Stream, IL) is a highly-respected, top-quality Flexographic Color Separator / Platemaker. We manufacture high-quality photopolymer and elastomer printing plates and sleeves for packaging printers. We are growing and ready to hire an exceptional individual to join our team as a Production Artist / Electronic Pre-Press Specialist.

Job Description:

  • Plan then execute modifications and improvements to customer-supplied electronic art files for the highest quality narrow-web and wide-web Flexographic print reproduction
  • Proficient use of Adobe® Illustrator® (and preferably ESKO Deskpack) with an available seat of ESKO ArtPro+
  • Accurately and thoroughly execute from written work instructions
  • Effectively inspect, catch and correct and learn from your and your Department team members’ oversights or mistakes
  • Constructively collaborate with other Department Operators, our Color Retoucher and our Graphics Project Coordinators to produce optimal color separations for our customers

Schedule: 8-hour first-shift, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work overtime as needed

Requirements:

  • Your behavior and actions are in alignment with our company’s Core Values
  • Flexographic pre-press experience required. You will be asked to separate files as part of the qualification process.
  • Must have trapping experience
  • Meet Flexografix’s high standards for the accuracy of your work product. Perfectionist tendencies are desired
  • Maintain a constructive attitude with fellow team members, while performing to meet our customers’ pressing timing requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Quickly grasp and apply new separation techniques demonstrated by fellow team members
  • You are a self-starter, able to meet job performance expectations with little supervision
  • Take ownership of the projects assigned to you
  • Have a sense of urgency to meet our customers’ timing expectations
  • Naturally enjoy learning and advancing your skills
