Dir. of Sacred Music, St. Andrew the Apostle, Gladstone, MO

Position: Director of Sacred Music
Status: Full time, exempt
Reports to: Pastor

Summary
St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone, Missouri is seeking a Director of Sacred
Music to recruit, assemble and lead Sacred Music for the principal Mass on Sundays. This
position is full time.

Essential Duties
· Recruit and assemble an ensemble for the principal Mass on Sundays.
· Direct a children’s ensemble or multiple groups for youth participation in music.
· Play for weekend masses, funeral masses and other liturgical events including Holy Days of
Obligation.
· Play the organ and train cantors for other weekend Masses.

Qualifications
· Comprehensive knowledge of Sacred Music and the Church’s choral and Gregorian Chant
Tradition.
· Superior pipe organ skills.
· Experience working with children and youth in developing musical skills.
· Flexible schedule including availability on weekends and evenings.
· Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with
the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
