The Donor Ministries Department at BGEA works to cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships with ministry supporters and to identify, develop, and deepen new relationships with prospective ministry partners. The goal of the department is to grow a strong base of support for decades to come. The department includes a core office staff and a regionally based field team who collectively serve the individuals, families and foundations that support BGEA with their gifts and prayers. Through special events, personal visits, and mailings, the field team shares the work, impact, and needs of the ministry with existing and prospective ministry partners. Included in the department is the Billy Graham Christian Response Center whose staff daily respond to phone calls and email correspondence, providing ministry information and answering spiritual questions with biblical insight and direction. The Prayer Line ministry operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, where spiritually trained representatives and volunteers answer calls for prayer and present the Gospel. TVTM supports phone call responses to Billy Graham Classic TV programs. Job Summary

The role of the Christian Guidance Writer is to effectively respond to written requests for spiritual and administrative help in a way that is faithful to Scripture and the positions and principles of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and assist in the compilation of appropriate response resources. Ministry Requirements

Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prayerfully evaluate correspondence to determine needs. Understand the operations and processes of the Christian Response Center. Compile responses from prepared paragraphs, prototypes, and dictation in compliance with Christian Response Center guidelines and focus, which appropriately reflect BGEA positions. Assist with responding to spiritual comments on assigned social media pages in compliance with Christian Response Center guidelines and focus. Review and keep current with department literature to choose appropriate materials to be included with responses. Proof own responses along with co-workers' responses for accuracy and appropriateness, receiving and giving feedback in a positive and constructive manner. Achieve and maintain production quotas with regard to responding to letters and emails. Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

Cross-train in order to support other areas and goals of the department. Complete daily and weekly production reports. Keep desk area neat and organized. Must be flexible with time, and available to work overtime when needed. Responsible for performing a variety of functions as assigned. Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

An excellent understanding of Scripture and evangelical doctrine with the ability and willingness to apply it within the framework of the principles and focus of the Association. Computer literate, especially familiar with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Minimum typing skills 40 wpm. Technically proficient with programs/databases used by the Christian Response Center. Excellent application of English grammar and writing skills in an appropriately professional style. High level of discernment in identifying needs from written material. Experience responding within social media platforms on a professional level is highly preferred. Ability to self-monitor work pace and interactions. Ability to work in a business-professional production environment. Strong Spanish writing skills preferred. Physical/Mental Demands

Must be detail and goal oriented. Able to sit at a workstation the majority of time. Ability to prioritize as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Repeated exposure to constituents’ concerns or significant personal crises. Changing production needs require flexibility in focus of work. Ability to release responses for ongoing editing. Ability to work under pressure. Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a call center environment. Mission Statement

Continuing the lifelong work of Billy Graham, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministry of Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us and by equipping the church and others to do the same.
