THIS IS NOT A REMOTE OR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) POSITION: The purpose of this job is to gather and analyze employment and wage data, industry classifications, physical locations, and occupational details for federal statistical programs. The role involves maintaining 80% employment or 70%-unit data accuracy by reviewing, verifying, and updating industry and county codes from returned Annual Refile Survey responses. Key responsibilities include industrial coding, reviewing Multiple Worksite Reports, and entering data into QUEST. The position requires analyzing and editing assigned NAICS codes in BLS systems in line with quarterly EQUI deliverable deadlines. This role supports the use of QUEST systems to fulfill QCEW BLS deliverables. All applicants must have a valid driver’s license and pass an extensive background check.
What you’ll need to be Successful Strong background in mathematics, statistics or data analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word. A strong understanding of BLS procedures, basic math, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Teams, NAICS coding system, QUEST, and BLS systems are required. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related field. Training in public speaking and specialized training in gathering and interpreting statistical data. At least 2 years' experience in the field of employment security or related experience in data analysis, economics modeling or statistics preferred. Experience using Microsoft Excel & Word.
Minimum Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience.
