Manager, New Verticals & Special Projects
role at
SoGal Ventures . About Little Spoon: Little Spoon was founded on the belief that today’s parents are different – equal parts time-strapped and food-savvy. We disrupt a century-old category with products and an experience that deliver on what the modern parent deserves. We’re looking for a highly versatile Manager, New Verticals & Special Projects to join our Business Operations team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who thrives as a generalist—comfortable switching between analytical work, strategic deck building, hands-on execution, and cross-functional project management. It’s a role where no two days will look the same. Reporting directly to our Chief of Staff, this is a hybrid role that will act as the connective tissue to ensure launches are tight, performance is visible, and leadership has what they need to move fast and effectively. You will primarily own critical retail workflows, support and manage new vertical launches, develop pitches for buyers, and help to drive the internal structure needed to scale Little Spoon’s fast-growing retail business. What You’ll Do
Retail Growth & New Vertical Expansion Share weekly performance snapshots and campaign dashboards with leadership to drive visibility and agile decision-making. Lead the creation of monthly buyer readouts, IRI performance synthesis, and retail performance storytelling. Develop repeatable templates and structures for ongoing performance reporting and buyer materials. Support new retailer launches through modeling, scenario planning, and business case development. Build decks and materials that synthesize insights, performance, and strategy for internal leadership and transform data into crisp narrative and insights for external audiences. Retail Management Support all retail marketing and go-to-market workstreams across Target, Amazon and future retail partners (e-commerce + in-store). Build and manage GTM calendars, promotional timelines, and execution plans; align agencies and internal teams and hold stakeholders accountable. Centralize and route retail marketing requests (from promos to in-store marketing), ensuring clarity, speed, and brand alignment. Manage day-to-day agency and platform relationships (shopper, Roundel, TPA, and retail media partners), ensuring all programs launch on schedule and deliver against performance goals (ROAS, CTR, conversion). Structure and manage internal cross-functional processes across Retail, Marketing, Strategy, and Ops (promo calendars, in-store marketing, reset timelines, ISM coordination, cross-functional meeting cadences). Identify bottlenecks and implement systems to help teams operate more efficiently. Analyze POS, retail media, and paid campaign performance data (ROAS, CTR, conversion, velocity, household penetration) to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities. Manage retail marketing budget trackers; monitor spend and flag reallocation opportunities based on performance. Strategic Support Support Chief of Staff with ad-hoc financial and business modeling across new launches, promotion planning, resets, and commercial planning. Pressure-test P&Ls, validate assumptions, and partner with Finance and Ops on margin and cost-structure opportunities. Executive Enablement & Special Project Support Act as a force multiplier and operate as a true extension of the Chief of Staff and CEO on priority initiatives – conducting analysis, preparing executive-level materials, and driving execution on high-impact, time-sensitive projects. Prepare concise briefs, meeting prep, and internal comms that allow Chief of Staff and CEO to move faster. Support the execution of high-priority growth initiatives, working directly with Chief of Staff and CEO. Absorb some of the miscellaneous special project executional work that sits between retail, strategy, ops, and marketing – connecting dots across the organization. What You’ll Bring
Strong grasp of financial statements, business case modeling, channel economics, and commercial planning. Data-driven; confident pulling reports, analyzing velocity, and able to distill complex problems into clear recommendations. Polished communicator with the confidence to interface with buyers, agencies, and senior leadership. Strong project management skills — highly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Comfortable moving fluidly between decks, models, processes, and execution. Scrappy, resourceful, and excited to build – often from zero to one. A collaborative team player with a low-ego, high-ownership mentality. What You’ll Need
3-5 years of experience in management consulting, banking, CPG strategy/business operations, retail, or a founder’s/CEO’s office role. A track record of thriving in fast-paced, high-impact environments, bringing calm, clarity, and structure to the chaos. A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and comfort with ambiguity. Based in NYC and confident working with teams across time zones – hybrid role out of our NYC HQ. Benefits
