Outside Sales Representative Building/Lumber
Overview
We are looking for an outgoing Outside Sales Representative in the Lumber and Building Materials industry to join our growing team. As the Outside Sales Rep, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. You will utilize your building materials knowledge, particularly in lumber, trusses, and exterior building products to effectively communicate and demonstrate the value of our client’s products to customers. The Outside Sales Rep will reach business targets through effective management of designated territories and on-site visits to customer and contractor sites.

Responsibilities
Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution
Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting
Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix
Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of Outside Sales or Account Management experience
Strong knowledge of lumber, trusses, and exterior building materials
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish rapport and build relationships with customers
Highly motivated and results-oriented
Strong negotiation and closing skills
