Manger, Nuclear Plant Support Services for the Natrium Demonstration Project, is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and administration of the operating, maintenance, and administrative programs, processes, and procedures necessary for the day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) of the station. Ensuring team collaboration with other departments, project partners, regulators, and outside organizations to leverage industry best practices as well as innovation to deliver a world-class O&M management model. The ideal candidate is a proven commercial nuclear industry leader, has cross-discipline experience (e.g., operations, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry), and is knowledgeable of industry standards for procedure writing and program administration. As plant construction progresses through commissioning and eventual commercial operation, roles and responsibilities of this position will shift to execution of O&M programs, processes, and procedures. Responsibilities
Leads the development and implementation of O&M programs, processes, and procedures for a new nuclear power plant, ensuring compliance with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO performance criteria, and other codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Directly supervise and manage performance of procedure writers, program developers and operations and maintenance specialists to ensure development of effective, high-quality procedures. Leverages the experience in other departments to ensure the timely completion of cross-discipline procedure reviews and database implementation. Ensures procedures are revised to maintain instructional and technical accuracy based on plant design changes, modifications to plant procedures, and changes in plant processes. Leads initiatives related to using smart procedures or other software-based support tools to improve efficiency and reduce human performance errors. Provide leadership through participation in company and industry procedure initiatives, benchmarking, assessments, and assistance. Engages with industry peers, third party vendors, NEI, and other organizations to find innovative methods & technologies for developing and using plant operating procedures. Participates in and prepared responses to NRC, INPO and management audits. Ensures the collection and maintenance of auditable records and reports required to document procedure development and revisions. Manages budgeting, staffing, planning, monitoring, and reporting necessary to cost-effectively meet overall project development needs. Requirements
Associates degree in science/engineering or other applicable fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven or more years of related industry experience/technical background. Effective written and oral communication skills. Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments. Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools. Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering from an accredited college/university or other applicable fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of ten or more years of commercial nuclear power plant training experience. Previous or current senior reactor operator (SRO) license. Proven ability in developing new programs, processes, and procedures for new technologies. Additional Information
