Overview
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.
Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to verify property occupancy, report general conditions via a mobile app, and photograph the property.
Responsibilities
Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment.
Verify property occupancy and report general property conditions.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Fill out a short form in an app.
Drive extended periods with numerous stops within the assigned county.
Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after vacancy.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Though you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on the county, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week.
There is no set minimum number of inspections; the workload is consistent month to month. You can earn more by becoming established, increasing availability, or covering a larger territory. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
