Senior Associate or Executive Senior Associate AD for Leadership and Culture Development University of North Texas – Denton

Position Overview The Senior Associate or Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Leadership and Culture Development serves the department’s Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for supporting and fostering personal, social, and professional growth for more than 350 student athletes at the University of North Texas. This role oversees, enhances, and continually creates programming for student athletes and staff in the areas of personal, career, and leadership development.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and Texas rules. Strong planning and project management skills. Ability to direct and manage the work of others.

Key Responsibilities

Develops and implements departmental initiatives designed to support the overall strategic plan and mission.

Oversees the development of a comprehensive program to educate student‑athletes on personal brand management, social media strategies, and financial literacy.

Provides oversight and evaluation of the student‑athlete orientation course.

Organizes and creates career fairs, panels, resume writing, mock interviews, job shadows, and job placements.

Directs the program for community engagement for all student athletes.

Develops in‑depth training for student athlete leaders and comprehensive professional development programming for athletics staff.

Implements mechanisms to assess effectiveness of leadership and professional development programming.

Assists in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors for annual support of leadership development initiatives.

Provides broad oversight to the prospective student athlete recruitment process for all athletics programs, serving as a liaison to campus admissions.

Seeks and develops strategic partnerships within campus constituencies and with external resources.

Provides leadership and oversight for division student services ensuring appropriate academic resources are provided to student athletes and monitoring academic progress and compliance.

Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information. Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.

Environmental Hazards Elevated temperatures. Low temperatures. Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. Noisy environments.

Work Schedule 8:00am‑5:00pm Monday thru Friday with some evenings and weekend events.
