Note: Arize is a remote-first company but Developer Relations roles often appear at in-person events. The nature of this role requires candidates to be based in the San Francisco Bay area, though there isn't an in-office requirement.
The Opportunity
Our developer relations team’s mission is to provide the best possible developer experience for our flagship products, Arize AX and Arize Phoenix. You’ll drive value to the business by building authentic relationships with the community at in-person events, writing best-in-class documentation, attention-grabbing open‑source demos, blog posts, videos, social content and more. We are expanding the team to improve our geographic coverage, with this role specifically based in the San Francisco Bay area.
What You’ll Do
Primary responsibilities
Build awareness of Arize’s products and our reputation as a thought leader in the space of AI evaluations and observability across every medium: social content, blog posts, videos, and more
Create a stellar onboarding experience for users of Arize by writing, expanding and polishing our product documentation
Write tutorials, cookbooks and open-source demonstration repositories that drive users quickly from introduction to value
Interact directly with our developer community at conferences, trade shows, and local meetups as well online through our community Slack and other channels
Take feedback from the community and turn it into actionable product insights that shape our open source and commercial product roadmaps
Secondary responsibilities
Assist our marketing team by providing source material for field marketing and SEO-focused website copy
Be the first point of contact for community members with product questions, directing them to the appropriate teams and channels
Collaborate with the Product team to prototype “spikes” for new features and product directions
Build partnerships with other companies and projects in the space to extend our reach
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience in an engineering or equivalently technical dev relations role
Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated by public-facing documentation, blog posts and videos where possible
Up-to-date engineering skills, ideally but not necessarily demonstrated by open‑source demonstrations and cookbooks
Working knowledge of LLM‑based app development e.g. agents, RAG, orchestration frameworks. You do not need to be specifically familiar with Arize.
A curious and self‑motivated continuous learner, comfortable with the ambiguities and rapid iteration of a startup environment
Willing to attend occasional evening and weekend events in-person either local to your location or (less frequently) within a few hours’ travel time
Bonus Points
Familiarity with the evaluations and observability space including products like Arize
Highly engaged in technical communities on forums like X, Reddit, Slack, Discord, Dev.to etc.
Existing experience running or contributing to open-source projects like Arize Phoenix
The estimated annual salary for this role is between $100,000 - $175,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is determined based upon a variety of job related factors that may include: transferable work experience, skill sets, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefit package, including: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, unlimited paid time off, generous parental leave plan, and others for mental and wellness support.
While we are a remote-first company, we have opened offices in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, as an option for those in those cities who wish to work in‑person. For all other employees, there is a WFH monthly stipend to pay for co‑working spaces.
