We’re currently seeking a Plant Director to plan, organize and direct activities to achieve the business' objectives in employee safety, product quality, on-time/in-full (OTIF) delivery while controlling overhead and being compliant with applicable laws and regulations. This individual must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence, have excellent interpersonal skills and have a genuine interest in helping the company and its employees succeed. Supervisory responsibilities include the direct supervision of manufacturing, maintenance, warehouse, transportation, quality control and safety. Collaboration responsibility to partner with support functions and other divisions.
Responsibilities
Overall P&L responsibility for the site; develop/implement a plan to meet annual divisional financial goals
Continue to develop a High-Performance Work System (HPWS) that secures a competitive advantage by aligning employee and company objectives, fostering high engagement, and achieving superior labor cost efficiency relative to revenue.
Analyze data/metrics and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility
Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment
Support continuing improvements in quality, productivity, and delivery performance
Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality
Apply lean manufacturing principles in designing, specifying, and validating world-class manufacturing processes that achieve organizational goals
Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning
Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives
Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses, especially labor, within budget
Assist with corporate initiatives and participate on teams to create and drive best practices across the company
Oversee resource planning, workforce planning, talent development and performance management for the plant
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ successful experience as plant manager, w/ P&L responsibility, in food production/manufacturing facility
Demonstrated ability to lead positive change in an organization
Solid financial background with ability to understand financial statements and formulate strategies based on financial data
Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies
Proficient in MS Office and connected workforce programsExcel in fostering teamwork and collaboration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bilingual in Spanish
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management or business management OR 6+ years of relevant plant manager experience in lieu of education.
