Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and ensure material availability.
Oversee the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support production schedules.
Collaborate with production, sales, and engineering departments to align material plans with demand forecasts.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance for on-time delivery and quality.
Implement and maintain accurate inventory control systems and processes, including cycle counting.
Analyze material usage, identify trends, and develop forecasts to anticipate future material needs.
Lead, mentor, and develop the materials team to enhance performance and achieve departmental goals.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven 5+ years of experience in materials management or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Expert proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced inventory management software.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills with a track record of optimizing material flow and cost.
In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, demand planning, and inventory control techniques.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Experience with advanced ERP module implementation (e.g., S&OP, WMS)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
