Are you passionate about numbers and Excel spreadsheets? Nevada County is seeking a Management Analyst I to join the Chief Fiscal Officer’s budget management team. This full‑time position involves serving as a liaison between the County Executive Office and County Departments. Individuals work with general supervision and support the county’s priority objective of fiscal sustainability and core services, including budget development, financials, long‑term planning, analyzing fiscal impacts, composing updates, and special projects.

The Management Analyst I will collaborate with staff from different departments to monitor adherence to the approved budget. They will review financial reports and accounting documents regularly to ensure accuracy. They will identify any required adjustments to the authorized budget and offer recommendations, support, and alternative options for departments.

In addition to budgeting, this position may support the County Executive Office in special projects.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualities listed below:

Principles and practices of public finance, budgeting, and fiscal control.

Standard and accepted uses and applications of statistics, including the calculation of mean and median.

Prepare clear, concise reports incorporating statistical data and comparable county research data points.

Ability to manage time and be adaptable to multiple deadlines.

Organized and detail‑oriented.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Positive relationship leadership skills.
