Senior Human Resources Business Partner - Field Operations

Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to support field operations across multiple distribution locations. This role provides hands‑on partnership to site leadership while collaborating closely with centralized HR teams. The Senior HRBP will lead employee relations efforts, guide HR compliance, support safety and workers' compensation programs, and promote a positive and accountable workplace culture.
This position requires a strong, ethical HR leader who can navigate complex situations, build trust at all levels, and ensure consistent application of policies and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support
Serve as the primary contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and recommending appropriate next steps.
Advise managers on performance concerns, coaching strategies, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
Work jointly with corporate HR partners to ensure ER cases are handled consistently and aligned with internal standards.
Support full‑cycle HR processes including onboarding, new hire orientation, separations, background checks, and exit interviews.
Respond to employee feedback and concerns, keeping leadership informed of workplace trends and issues.
Safety, Compliance & Workers' Compensation
Deliver and support safety initiatives, including training, recordkeeping, and compliance with IIPP requirements.
Partner with operations staff to ensure safety issues are addressed promptly and thoroughly.
Participate in safety audits and assist in responding to employee safety inquiries.
Support workers' compensation processes in collaboration with corporate WC and safety teams.
Ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state employment laws, HR policies, and audit requirements from regulatory agencies.
Operational HR Functions
Maintain accurate workforce data, including headcount, turnover, and agency staffing usage.
Assist during external audits related to hiring, employment practices, and documentation.
Train supervisors and employees on HR programs, policies, safety guidelines, and WC procedures.
Build strong working relationships with staffing partners to ensure appropriate coverage for distribution center needs.
Collaborate with HR colleagues across various functions to ensure consistent service delivery throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
Experience
5‑10 years of progressive HR experience with a strong emphasis on employee relations and field‑based HR support.
Experience managing HR activities across multiple states and employee groups.
Strong background in investigations, coaching leaders, and advising on complex HR situations.
Previous exposure to international HR practices is beneficial but not mandatory.
Certifications
PHR preferred.
Spanish fluency (written and spoken) is required.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a sense of urgency.
Knowledge of employment regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, state leave laws, OSHA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, HRIS platforms, and preferably SAP.
Ability to influence leaders, support organizational change, and model ethical decision‑making.
Self‑motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently within a distributed HR structure.
