Maintenance Superintendent
at our Carlsbad, New Mexico location. The Mine Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and directing the duties of the mine belt, power, and mechanical crews to ensure efficient attainment of safety, performance, workflow, and reliability targets. What you’ll do? Complete field visits to mining areas to ensure that safety, mining, and housekeeping standards are maintained. Promote safety by attending toolbox talks, monthly meetings, completing corrective actions, and completing LEGO observations and action plans. Ensure regulatory, corporate, and site safety and environmental standards are being followed by conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and housekeeping tours. Work collaboratively with other departments on site for Carlsbad to ‘Win Together’. Oversee the coordination of daily mining activities and plan future mining activities. Direct and manage daily and long-term personnel planning and scheduling. Control costs in accordance with the operations budget and performance. Develop and support continuous improvement ideas, six sigma projects, workout teams, and other company initiatives. Conduct investigations and regularly participate in RCA’s. People Management: Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when necessary. Develop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talent. Support employees in their career development at Mosaic. What you’ll need: High school diploma or GED plus 7+ years of relevant experience; or associate degree in a Technical, Chemical, or Engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience required. Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience preferred. 2+ years of previous underground experience in a people leadership position preferred. Strong safety leadership and field presence. Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the interrelations within an industrial facility. Process improvement skills preferred. Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards.
