Life Enrichment Coordinator

The Life Enrichment Coordinator supports the planning and implementation of a comprehensive activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, recreational, educational, community involvement, and spiritual needs of Health Center members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading a variety of activities, including but not limited to: Arts and crafts Current events and discussion groups Exercise and movement programs Cooking activities Word games and cognitive activities Cultural and religious services Special entertainment, events, and outings One-on-one visits, as needed Assist with the preparation and distribution of the monthly activity calendar and newsletter. Purchase activity supplies as needed, following established procedures. Assist with daily distribution of mail to members. Assist with and direct the safe movement of members to and from activity and recreational areas. Coordinate, support, and supervise volunteers assisting with activities. Maintain accurate documentation of member participation and attendance. Conduct activities independently in the absence of the Director of Activities. Attend required in-service training and educational sessions. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a social or recreational program within a licensed healthcare setting preferred. Background or experience in music, art, drama, or dance therapy preferred. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting (approximately 60% of the workday). Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to push residents weighing up to 250 pounds in gerichairs and/or wheelchairs. Ability to read, speak, and understand English. Ability to hear and to sit and walk intermittently throughout the workday. May be exposed to communicable diseases, including HIV and Hepatitis B, industrial and household chemicals, offensive odors, and occasional combative behavior.
