Healthcare Account Manager – Grainger Grainger (W.W. Grainger, Inc.) is a leading broad‑line distributor serving over 4.5 million customers worldwide. Our Healthcare Account Manager (HCAM) role focuses on achieving profitable revenue growth within the San Diego metro area by building strong relationships with key local health‑care accounts.

Work Location:

Onsite – San Diego, CA

Compensation:

Base salary range $61,000 – $101,600 per year, with variable compensation tied to sales targets and account‑management responsibilities.

Position Details As the HCAM, you will penetrate assigned accounts and develop relationships to achieve profitable growth. You’ll partner with sales support, service teams, and contract owners to expand sales within large local health‑care customers. Variable compensation is tied to sales targets and additional account‑management responsibilities. Report to the District Sales Manager for Healthcare.

Responsibilities

Understand customer goals and respond to changing needs

Apply market data and resources to address new developments in customers’ businesses

Support managed inventory tasks to deepen customer insight and expand sales opportunities

Explain Grainger’s value proposition and deliver solutions that drive profitable sales

Prioritize customers and markets to execute a strategic action plan for sales goals

Develop and implement account strategies, including regular business reviews, to maximize sales

Comply fully with sales and pricing guidelines

Leverage available resources and technical support

Document, analyze, and measure the impact of customer‑focused activities on productivity and sales within the assigned market

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)

3+ years of outside sales experience

Proficiency in sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning

Tech‑savvy and capable of communicating in a modern business environment

Ability to bring actions to completion and close sales with customers

Strong business‑driver articulation and financial/total cost of ownership understanding at all organizational levels

Skillful in uncovering objections/concerns and providing appropriate solutions using the sales process

Process discipline and alignment of planning goals with pipeline development to grow market revenue
